Masaquerade of Secrets
By Tamyara Brown
Sly like a fox, sliver like a snake and quick like a fox you worship a man full of deception. Riddle you with swift words, feed you food fix to ail you. He comes to heal you but just enough to keep you coming back. The biggest crook in the game he digs his hooks in your veins. Change your community only to lace his pockets. Living in mansions on a hill while looking down at you drowning in the landfills. Giving a line to save only a few while letting the others be devour by the wolf. Crazy how soon we forget that words spoken are how shackles landed on our wrist. Sly like a fox, sliver like a snake and slick as a wolf making sin look beautiful and sainthood look deceptive. Pay attention who they hire to lead our space. Create chaos and pretending to be a peace maker. Fools cover their eyes in masks because the ugliest truth looks like a Pretty lie. Hidden in a smile, spoken in a speech and draped in silk. Pay attention the sheep leading the flock may be a wolf in sheep's clothing. His secrets are safe in a den of thieves. Please believe he is in a business of keeping masks over our eyes so we will never see the identity of a devil in disguise.
