An angel named Garth
By Tamyara Brown
I met him and the second our eyes connected our souls fell in love.
He touch my hand and I could feel his energy pump into me.
I knew from there he would be mine and I would be his
The more we talk the easier it was to see that the heavens and earth brought us together to never part.
He laid down his coat so I could walk over a puddle
Held the door open and pulled out my chair.
Fed me peaches and cream but nothing was sweeter than his kisses.
At night washed my feet, brushed my hair and manicured my nails.
Made love to me with a tenderness that brought window shattering orgasms.
Garth gave me love, gave me my second wind and reason to breathe easy.
He'd sing Africa hymns and stroke my shoulders.
I lost him on a rainy day in November.
The day God called him home.
I knew at that very moment I fell in love with an angel.
Now that he is gone I often hear him call my name.
I often feel the touch of his lips on my neck.
I cry tears of joy because God gave me permission to love an angel named Garth.
